Excel Training - Newcastle upon Tyne

2.5 CPD hours

Suitable for beginners and intermediate users of Microsoft Excel, this is a highly practical seminar session where you'll gain hands-on experience of working with this popular spreadsheet programme from an experienced ICT teacher.  You will gain a sound understanding of how to use a spreadsheet to support you with the new Bill of Costs along with some tips on how to use this software more effectively.

For use during the session you are required to bring a laptop with a version of Microsoft Excel installed. You will be provided with various documents and activities and given the opportunity to receive feedback on your use of excel.

It is not necessary for you to have prior experience of Microsoft Excel although it is envisaged many of you will. You'll learn how to work with this application and build upon existing knowledge. Topics you'll cover during the session include:

  • The Excel spreadsheet environment and filtering
  • Moving and copying data
  • Creating basic formula
  • Basic IF statements
  • Linking worksheets in formula
  • The use of shortcuts in Excel
  • Troubleshooting and search terms

Kirsty Allison, Head of ACL Training will be running a new Bill Drafting Workshop during the afternoon - click here for more information.
