eDisclosure – The Impact of the Digital Age (morning)

This highly interactive seminar will enable attendees to examine the impact of the digital age on the information and communications that businesses store electronically.  Attendees will go on to explore what now needs to be disclosed when disputes go to court and consider why there may be a need for the rules on disclosure to be reviewed.

The broad menu of disclosure options found within CPR 31.5(7) which were introduced following the 2013 Jackson reforms will be explored, before considering standard disclosure which remains the default for most cases.  The subject of how the need for change culminated in a two years mandatory disclosure pilot scheme in the Business and Property Courts will be reviewed and discussed. Following this attendees will be encouraged to explore the Practice Direction made under CPR 51.2, detailing the significantly revised approach to disclosure, for cases subject to the pilot scheme. Finally, the session will involve a discussion on what this will mean for budgeting and your day to day role.
