Meet the speakers

Vicky Ling is a Chartered Quality Professional and management consultant who worked for the Legal Aid Board as it then was in the early 1990’s.  She is a founder member of the Law Consultancy Network and will be speaking from the point of view of Resolution about their aspirations for Legal Aid in 2020 and also about the vexed issue of abolition of Court Assessed bills.

Kate Wellington is the CEO of the CLSB and will be speaking about the important and far reaching changes to the CPD regime for Costs Lawyers that come into force on 1/1/2021.  Kate is a solicitor qualified in the UK and Australia and has a long established career in both the private and public sectors and has a wide range of roles and specialisms in addition to her work for the CLSB.

Paul Seddon is a Costs Lawyer, member of and former Chair of the LAG, operating his own costs practice and he also serves on several advisory committees including the LAA PET Group and the LAPG.  He is a part time author and is generally well recognised for his encyclopaedic knowledge of the rules particular to Legal Aid.  Paul will be giving us some top topical tips.

Antony Leal is a solicitor and for the last 18 years he has been with the Legal Aid Agency – including it’s previous incarnations – and has for the last 6 years been the lead in High Cost Family and Court of Protection cases.  He is a regular contributor to the LAG seminars and a good friend to the ACL LAG.  Antony will be speaking about current issues in high cost cases and giving tips on how to make the processes more efficient.
