Negotiations and Assessment using the New Bill of Costs - London

5 CPD hours

This session is designed to introduce attendees to the functionality behind the new bill of costs that will drive and assist negotiations. It is a highly practical seminar where you will gain hands-on experience of working with the electronic bill of costs.

Attendees will consider different levels of generality when considering costs claimed, draft points of principle and challenge specific items in both the ACL bill and Precedent S. This interactive session will give you the opportunity to start to explore the functionality behind the bills and how they may assist the court at an assessment hearing.

You will be given completed bills and will gain benefit from working collaboratively with peers on challenging time entries and items claimed.

Topics you'll cover during the session include:

•      Comparison to budget

•      Fee earner use

•      Counsel use

•      Disbursements claimed

Places are limited and early booking is advisable.

Please note that for use during the session you are required to bring a laptop with a version of Microsoft Excel installed.
