Hot off the press

In a new regular update, we round up the press coverage that the ACL has achieved in the last quarter

The ACL Council continues to work on raising the profile of Costs Lawyers and the Association through the media.

In March, chair Jack Ridgway wrote for the Law Society Gazette calling for a streamlined costs system. A week later, Council member Laura Rees wrote for the same publication on the latest Supreme Court decision dealing with the solicitor’s equitable lien.

Elsewhere, the ACL’s response to proposals for a fixed costs cap for clinical negligence was featured in Insurance Claims, New Law Journal, Legal Futures and The Legal Diary.

Jack Ridgway’s comments on a Court of Appeal ruling to strike out a bill of costs because it was not possible to identify which lawyers worked on the case were picked up by the Law Society Gazette and Solicitors Journal.

Jack was also the subject of a careers profile in New Law Journal.

Meanwhile the Council’s regular authored contributions on wide range of topics have continued with articles featuring in Litigation Funding, Thomson Reuters Dispute Resolution Blog, New Law Journal and the Association of District Judges Bulletin.
